Compensation Range:

$63,360.54 – $100,711.56

 

Position Summary:

Hiring compensation range: $63,360.54 to $69,696.59 depending on qualifications.

 

Job Duties:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the College’s Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP), and related emergency procedures.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness training, drills, tabletop exercises, and full-scale exercises for College personnel and students.
  • Support campus emergency response activities during incidents, emergencies, severe weather events, and special events.
  • Maintain emergency notification procedures and assist with emergency communication systems.
  • Collaborate with local, state, and federal emergency management agencies, law enforcement, fire rescue, public health, and other partners.
  • Assist with hazard vulnerability assessments and campus risk assessments.
  • Develop and distribute emergency preparedness education and awareness materials.
  • Participate in after-action reviews and improvement planning following exercises or incidents.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable federal, state, and local emergency management regulations and standards.
  • Support the College’s business continuity and disaster recovery initiatives.
  • Maintain emergency supplies, resource inventories, and preparedness equipment.
  • Prepare reports, records, and documentation related to emergency management activities.
  • Serve on committees and attend meetings related to campus safety, preparedness, and resilience.
  • Provide support during special events and other operational needs as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies outside normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong technology skills and willingness to learn new software systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Five years of experience in emergency management, public safety, disaster preparedness, law enforcement, fire service, military, higher education safety, or related experience.
  • Knowledge of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS).

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education emergency management or campus public safety.
  • FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) or related FEMA certifications.
  • Experience conducting emergency exercises and preparedness training.
  • Knowledge of Clery Act requirements and emergency notification procedures.
  • Experience with continuity planning and crisis communications.

  • Knowledge of emergency management principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports and presentations.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

 

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in both office and field environments.
  • Will require travel between campuses and off-site locations.
  • Will require standing, walking, lifting, and outdoor work during emergency operations or exercises.
  • Position is designated as essential personnel during emergencies and natural disasters.
